Biography:

Bobby Joe G (Robert Joseph Grismer) I was born in Detroit Michigan.  I come from a large family, three  Brothers, Two Sisters.  There was always music in our home.  My Mother had a piano.  We all played musical instruments in school.  I always had songs in my head, I wanted to let out.    Detroit had three Rock Stations, One Country Station, and some Motown, and Hip Hop stations.  I grew up with a love for Heavy Metal, and show tunes, but I love any music, especially songs that are sung from the heart.

With the poor economy in Detroit, I Joined the U.S. Navy at a young age of Seventeen.  I served in the Submarine Force for 22 years.  Through my travels, I met many great musicians, fell in love with the Electric Guitar, my first compositions were written and recorded beneath the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.  Just before I retired, I met the most incredible woman, my future wife, and ended up settling in Middletown Connecticut.

I spent the next Twenty years, leveraging my technical background, on Construction Sites throughout New England, as a Building Automation Technician.  My collection of guitars, DAWs, amps, laptops, and gear grew over the years, along with my love for performing. 

In July of 2025 I retired from my Construction career, to pursue my passion for music full time.  I belong to the Band “LA Basement” were I do vocals, play lead guitar, do sound and lighting.  I love the outdoors, you may see me hiking or mountain biking locally, with a guitar on my back.
